CASE STUDY

NHS

North Tees and Hartlepool University NHS Trust:

Assisting a large NHS trust improve the quality and efficiency of their ward delivered services.

Our client is one of the largest Acute Trusts in the UK. To ensure best value was being achieved we identified the need to review and the delivery of ward catering and housekeeping services.

The facilities ward service had evolved over a number of years. During this time it had become disjointed, unable to meet the needs of the patients or the business, suffered increased costs, and exhibited inconsistency in the quality of services across the Trust. It was essential to study the service and determine a long term strategy. We also needed to deliver best practice solutions to implement and pilot change.

We undertook a strategic review of the current service provision. This took into account service delivery footprints, service activity, down-times, patient impact views, insight gathered from key stakeholders, financial implications, lessons learnt from the service pilot, and future service options.

  • We delivered a comprehensive review of the current service provision and results from the pilot

  •

  • We refocused and redesigned service delivery
  •

  • We developed locally tailored services
  •

  • We made massive cost efficiencies
  •

  • Quality scores and consumer satisfaction increased dramatically
